All extant works and his fundamental work on astronomy Almagest (written ca 150), containing systematized all theretofore known knowledge of classical astronomy, which was used as a basis by all later scientists prior to M. Copernicus (1473–1543). K. Ptolemaeus’s geocentric universe system explained that the Earth is the centre of the universe and the Sun, the Moon and planets revolve around the Earth.
